Apparently Cole is a Bull Elephant. Who knew?
Having fun with our new
toy
, a Flip video camera. The price was right and so far it’s working out nicely.

A little while back we packed everyone in the truck and spent a couple days at Sea World. It was hotter than a stolen blow torch, but we still managed to have a good time. Heck, Jean and I even had a chance to feed the dolphins. Freakin’ dolphins, man!

Yesterday I was about to toss an old phone book into the recycle bin when I thought I’d have a little fun with McKenna. I showed her the thick book and asked her if she thought she could rip it in half. Wide-eyed, she said she couldn’t, but when I asked her if she wanted to try anyway she decided to give it a go. She spent only a second or two trying to do it the “strong man” way (ripping through all the pages), and then proceeded to open the book to the center pages and tear it down the length of the spine.
Needless to say that’s the way I was planning to do it once she’d given up on doing it the “normal” way. How cool is that? Gotta love the way a 4 1/2 year old’s mind works. Amazing...

Just when you thought it was safe to go to the mail box!
I heard about Monster By Mail a little while back, but I never could come up with an idea for a monster that I thought would look cool. Finally I gave in a week or so ago, and here’s the end result:

The Hipster Hippogriff
You can even watch the artist in action. How cool is that?

Spring has sprung - at least it has in McKenna’s room. A week or so ago we finally got around to putting up the cool butterflies that Jean found at the craft store (as well as a kite I’ve had for a long time). The end result was mighty nice.
There’s also a shot of the rainbow we painted a while back. It’s still waiting on a second coat of paint, but things are definitely coming together...

It only took a year and a half to get around to it, but finally our balcony has railings on it again. Well, on part of it anyway. The easy part.
12 feet down (front and back). 32 more feet to go (two more 16′ sections)...

Here’s the kiddos showing off their Mom’s mad sewing skills. They showed their new threads off during our morning(ish) walk - you’d think we were having our very own St Patty’s Day parade or something.
In other news, McKenna got her first
big girl
bike a couple weeks ago, and she’s really starting to get the hang of it. Cole’s now the owner of his very own bike helmet, so it’s just a matter of time before he’s tearing things up on the tricycle. Never a dull moment...

Well, I’ve been sucked into the personality-spam blackhole that is Twitter. A handy way to post random things to a site - let’s see how long I keep up with it...

Cole took his first un-aided steps about 3 weeks ago, but Tuesday night he decided this step or two at a time stuff was for wimps.
Now he’s walking all over the place like it’s no big deal. Realizing, of course, that our lives are now officially over, we’re still just as jazzed about this as we were when his big sister did the same thing.
Here are some quick clips of the man about town in action, coming and going (you can see how well he listens to us...).
